World Book Day 2017

Children at Cranfield Church of England Academy had an amazing World Book Day (not to mention the entire week of book related activities!).

World Book Day is a celebration! It's a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it's a celebration of reading. In fact, it's the biggest celebration of its kind and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

Every year, Cranfield Church of England Academy and Little Cranes Pre-School celebrate World Book Day with a whole week of exciting activities! This year, the children have thoroughly enjoyed bringing two books to life through Dance and Drama; Reception and Key Stage One brought 'Where the Wild Things Are' to life, and Key Stage Two, the BFG! How exciting!

Other activities have included the Usborne Book Fair, the ever-popular Book Swap, Story Telling sessions at lunchtimes and a wealth of brilliant book activities in classrooms!

Our thanks to our Literacy Leader, Mrs Merry, for doing a superb job in organising such enriching events.

Not long and it will be Science week! Goodness, what lucky children we have!
