Year Two's Medieval Day
On Friday 19th May, Year Two celebrated a successful Progress Week with a magnificent Medieval Day! The school was overrun by knights, princesses and medieval men and women, who were transported back in time to the 1300s by Lady Catherine from Gripping History. The children learnt lots about medieval clothing and got to try some on too, (although they did find some items a little itchy!). Lady Catherine taught the children about medieval food, objects and armour, with some children trying out swords and helmets…watch out! The highlight of the day was seeing the children competing in a tournament of jousting, archery and battling, only for Lady Catherine to steal the show with a formidable display of her archery skills, using both a bow and crossbow! The children thoroughly enjoyed their special day and have learnt a lot from this wonderful experience.
