At Cranfield Academy we organise two 'PALs' groups. PALs stands for 'Peer Assisted Learning'. These take place twice a week for twenty minutes each.
In PALs, the older children (Year Four) recieve ongoing training and advice to support their allocated PAL (the younger child) in developing their Reading abilities. The older children ask questions and offer constructive next steps for the younger child. Much research suggests that the impact of peer assisted learning is high, with benefits for both the older and younger children involved.
