Higher Ability Plus
At Cranfield Academy we consider all our children to be gifted or talented in something, but we recognise that there are some children who stand out as working at a level much higher than their peers. Children who are identified as being gifted or talented in a particular area are given opportunities to develop their skills or understanding through differentiated class work which challenges them to extend their skills and knowledge .All our lessons have a “to be challenged” opportunity which provides an additional opportunity to extend the learning of our most able children. A selection of our Year Four pupils have the chance each year to attend the Children’s University, during the summer holidays, where they have opportunities to work with children from other schools with similar abilities and interests.
