Racing Ahead with Values
On Tuesday 5th June 2018, children at both sites participated in Cranfield Church of England Academy's 5K Race in aid of the Institute of Cancer Research!
With two 5K races being organised superbly by Mrs Gedny, and over 350 children accomplishing the entire distance, the event was a spectacle to behold. The atmosphere on the day was simply superb with children and adults cheering each other on and showing those all-important values we think about each day at Cranfield Academy - the Key Stage Two racers saw a joint-win, with the two competitors agreeing to cross the line hand in hand, children from Saint Paul's Site found themselves supported by those at Saint Peter's, older children did more than the 5K distance to support the younger children and friends held hands to encourage each other around the course.
What an amazing day for our school community and a current fundraising total of £2160 is quite simply the icing on the cake! Donations can still be made by clicking here.
Well done children and thank you to all for the kind donations and well wishes including:
- Mrs Gedny's time and commitment organising this triumphant event.
- RGR Garages for generously donating medals for every successful racer.
- Persimmons Homes for generously donating cones to line the route.
- All of the parent volunteers who marked children's laps and/or walked them to and from Saint Paul's Site.
