The Academy's Ethos, Aims and Whole School Objectives are driven forwards by the Senior Leadership Team. All experienced teachers, the Senior Leaders meet regularly to ensure the smooth running and ongoing improvement of the Academy. They are passionate practitioners, united in making Cranfield Church of England Academy the very best place to be. Find out more about each Senior Leader and the work of the team below.

Mr Joseph Piatczanyn - Headteacher

Having worked at Cranfield Church of England Academy since 2009 as a teacher, Key Stage One Leader, Key Stage Two Leader, Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Headteacher, I am now very proud to hold the position of Headteacher as of April 2018. Both of our school sites are very special places to be and you can find out more about this in my 'Headteacher's Welcome'. My passion for our school motto of “enjoying, achieving and learning”, and our Academy's strong Christian Values-based ethos, guides me in all decisions made for our children and community. Being Headteacher of Cranfield Church of England Academy is nothing short of a privilege and is aided by the commitment and support of our wonderful Governors, Staff, Children and Parents to making our Academy the very best place to be.

Mrs Jo Dormer - Deputy Headteacher & SENDCo

I am delighted to hold the post of Deputy Headteacher at Cranfield and am based at Saint Peter's Site in Court Road. I have a passion for ensuring every child reaches their full potential within a safe, nurturing environment and am therefore proud to be the school's Inclusion Leader, supporting children with Special & Medical Needs, in addition to those who are our most able, or who have English an Additional Language. I am jointly responsible for Safeguarding within the school, alongside Mrs Massey.

Mrs Emma Massey - Deputy Headteacher:

I joined Cranfield Academy in 2014 and have enjoyed every moment enjoying, achieving and learning with the children. Having taught for 18 years in Wales and England, Cranfield Academy is positively unique – ‘Cranfield is certainly the place to be’! I am delighted to begin as Deputy Headteacher at Saint Paul's Site from April 2019! I am passionate about supporting each child to fulfil their potential to become the best they can be, in all that they do. It is such a rewarding role watching the children flourish and learn from the experiences and opportunities that our wonderful school provides daily.

Miss Stephanie Hubbert - Senior Leader for Years One and Two at Saint Peter's Site

From the day I began my second year teacher training at Cranfield Academy I knew it was the school I wanted to work at; I feel very privileged to have worked in Key Stage Two for the past five years and am now delighted to be working in Key Stage One, as Senior Leader for Years One and Two at Saint Peter's SIte. I've had the pleasure of training and working with a brilliant and supportive team. I am passionate about trying new ideas and engaging children to ensure they achieve their full potential. I have a passion for Sport and Play and look forward to enhancing our provision further this year with a brilliant team.

Mrs Jenny Connell - Senior Leader for Years One to Four at Saint Paul's Site:

Since joining Cranfield in 2016, it has been a pleasure to teach and encourage the children as they move on in their learning journeys. I find it so refreshing to work within a school where everyone is deeply committed to providing all children with many opportunities to flourish. As a teacher for over 13 years, with teaching experience in both Key Stages One and Two, I am proud to be the Senior Leader for Years 1 to 4 at St Paul's site as well as the leader of Writing. I enjoy being a positive influence in the teaching and learning at Cranfield and look forward to working with you!

Mrs Lisa Edmond - Reception Leader

I am delighted to be the Reception leader at Cranfield. Having taught elsewhere for over 12 years I joined Cranfield as a Reception class teacher. I quickly discovered a passion for working with some of the youngest children in our school, so was delighted to take on the role of Reception Leader this academic year.  I am also the Curriculum Zone leader for 'Our World - Past, Present and Future' which focuses on the Academy's international status in addition to the Geography, History, Computing & French Curriculums.

Mrs Leesa McLachlan - Pre-School Leader

After 20 years in Early Years settings both in private and educational provisions, I joined Cranfield Church of England Academy in 2015. My career here started as a teaching assistant and cover supervisor where I worked alongside the teaching staff in supporting the learning experiences of all the children. In 2016, our school became a dual site, and I had the privilege of setting up and opening Little Cranes Pre-school. I have continued to develop this 'outstanding' provision, working an experienced team to provide a safe and secure environment for our youngest members of our school to enjoy, achieve and learn together.
